Hi
My Ipaqs wont recognice compact flas cards, what am I doing wrong???

Ive got one 3630 and one 3950, sharing the same expansion pack and pc-card to cf slot adapter. I have tried several cf cards, including a bluetooth, none of them get recognized. Tried them later on a laptop, all of them worked (laptop running xp).

The expansion pack from compaq is recognized when inserted, and the the about menu under settings-system-about reports expansion slot in use when my old pcmcia modem is inserted, I also experienced a grait power drain with the modem, making me at least asume it was activated alltrough finding a pocket pc driver for it was impossible.

From were my testing have led me, I have assumed the problem is caused by a software problem, both Ipaqs are running same pocket pc 2002 build. I have not installed any drivers for the cfcard adapter or cards, also I havent found any settings allowing me to activate support for this feature..

Anyone got a clue? Any help is apricated

For bluetooth or modem, the card need to be compatible with pocketpc os, not all of them are and you may need to obtain and install appropriate driver. These links list some compatible cards;
http://www.cewindows.net/peripherals/cfbluetooth.htm
http://www.cewindows.net/peripherals/cfmodem.htm

For cf memory card, how are you using it? If the pocketpc recognizes the card you should see it as a folder in the file explorer and you can access and use it just like any other folders. For some applications, you need to create a My Documents folder on the storage card and put data in there otherwise those applications will not see the contents.

I am trying to use the cf card as a memory expansion, for storage of mp3s and maybe some pictures. I cant see the cards in file explorer. I have tryed formating one of the card in my digital ixus camera, but that didnt solve the problem. Since I dont got a card reader for the pc I cant create a my documents folder, do I need that for the ipaq to see the card, or just for some programs?

Anybody else got a sugestion?

On my 4150 the memory card shows up as a folder called Storage Card.

Using File Explorer its path is \My Device\Storage Card
