Thanks AnswerDude 07-30-2004, 10:53 PM Unfortunately no, infrared port is a serial port which has maximum speed of 115.2Kbps. bimmerboy 08-01-2004, 05:22 AM my computers IR uses something called fast Irda, and runs at 4mbits, but you know for a fact that the built in pda ir uses the old serial port technology??? allgire 08-01-2004, 08:00 AM The 3950 IR Module spec's are here (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00045402&locale=en_US&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=322897&prodTypeId=215348) and here (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00045852&locale=en_US&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=322897&prodTypeId=215348) . It says "The module supports slow Infrared (SIR), also defined as IrDA 1.0 with a maximum transmission rate of 1.15Mbps. The maximum Infrared (IR) transmission distance is 20 centimeters (7.8 inches) " The 3630 spec's are here (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00046237&locale=en_US&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=96479&prodTypeId=215348) . So, neither one is capable of the 4mb/s. bimmerboy 08-01-2004, 11:12 AM tnx for getting this clear :) PDA Street
