NA City Select 6 and old map files

I just got and unlocked North America City Select 6. I have a complex set of maps so under v5, I had selected these maps in MapSource and saved them as a map file (.mps). When I loaded v6, and got to the disk space needed page, I uninstalled v5. v6 loaded and unlocked properly. But when I went to load my old map files, it first said they needed to be converted, then it said some maps would be missing since v5 was not installed. When all was said and done, my map selections were not loaded.

Is it not possible to transfer your map selections from one version of City Select to another?

Or did I just goof by removing v5? I know some people had problems when they deleted v5 before installing v6. While I don't get the impression I have the same symptoms they did, perhaps that's my problem.

P.S. Sorry if this is covered in another thread -- I did do a fairly thorough search for this issue and went through a number of posts without finding anything that covered it.
