Ipaq 3630 not charging - HELP [Archive]

I have Ipaq 3630 having Li Polymer Battery. I have used it sparingly for past 20 months. I used to charge it every 10-15 days. However recently i couldnot charge it for 2-3 months.

Now i tried to charge the Ipaq. It doesnot get charged. As soon as i remove the Ipaq from the charger, it switches off. THough the Ipaq works fine when it is on Charge.

What could be wrong? How can i solve the problem.

Any suggestions please.

Did you flip the "hard off" switch on the bottom before your let it lay there for those 2-3 months? I know this would erase everything on the iPAQ. Letting it sit around that long without charging it will run the battery down to the point where it cannot be recharged. The main battery is also the backup battery. Look at the link below for an explanation on the iPAQ battery. I'd say that you will need to replace it. My suggestion is PocketPCTechs, they have both an extended battery and a replacement batery.
