I have a Sharp HC4600 running CE 2.0. Does anyone know where I can get updated CE software for this unit? Also, will Microsoft's Active Sync 3.7xx work with Windows XP? Have the original sync software that came with this unit but I am confused if it will run on the XP software that I currently have on my computer. I understand that this PC uses a PCMICA II card, anyone know if these and/or an adapter are readily available at CompUSA or some oneline store? Thought those of you out there that are more savy on this unit could give me a little bit of help to find answers to some of these questions.

You cannot update the operating system. It is on a rom chip.
You can get activesync from the microsoft web site. It does work with xp.
You can buy a enterasys wifi card on ebay. Works great with windows ce 2.11. Not sure about ce 2.0.

Thanks for the response. It is most helpful. Do you think a ROM chip with a higher version of CE can be installed on the unit if I could find it?

I am not sure. Go to this website and click on Contact NEC. They will have the answer.

Any idea which NEC MobilePro Model the HC 4600 correlates to?

Oops, sorry, please disregard my post about contacting NEC. I was in a hurry and did not read the whole thing.
The H4600 is the highest development of that type of machine that sharp made for the mobilon line. No update is available. All you can do is sell it on ebay and buy a machine like the NEC mobilepro 780 if you want a more capable or advanced machine. Now is a good time to buy because a lot of 780s have been dumped on the market and the price is low. When they are gone the price will go up.
