Is it possible / unharmful to delete "Launcher 4.1" from the Palm usinf JackSprat? (This is the built-in launcher) or am I looking for trouble by doing this?

Thanks,

Mike

Are you using another launcher?

How much ROM are you saving?

No Launcher................yet. I would install Silver Screen.

Not much ROM would be freed up ............ 73k or so. The problem is (don't say it Jim ...................I tried the ribbon thing. That didn't work. I'm still trouble shooting).........

I recieved an error which read:

"Fatal Exception" while running "Launcher 4.1P"

This is the built in launcher. Also, when I go to the list of applications in the Palm's main menu, and scroll down, as soon as I reach the area that Launcher 4.1P is in, I get this error (above).

(I think I have some sort of system-wide problem but really can't afford to go out and get a new handheld and have WAY too many app.'s to "wipe out" / erase and "start fresh"). At this point, I'm willing to live with it .....................until these HARD RESETS become more frequent ...........................Jim. :)

I think you would have to:
1) use JackFlash to put SilverScreen into ROM
2) use the Palm Launcher to start SS.
3) within SS, set it to be the default launcher.
4) use JackSprat to delete Palm Launcher

Keep a good backup because I have not done this before. I may have missed something.

Anyone else out there? ................... no offense John. I'll give it a few days and see what sort of feedback comes in.

Thanks for your time!

If you're getting a fatal exception with the built-in launcher it's likely that you'll have the same problem with a third party launcher since they use the same basic OS functions to work. Sorry to keep singing the same song but you're going to keep having problems until you get the hardware or software problem fixed that's causing all your fatal exceptions.
