Hi guys,
I have called Toshiba, Microsoft, Compaq, Franklin Covey, and even Pocket Informant lately about this issue and no one seems to get it. Maybe someone else out there has seen this:
I use tasks heavily, recurring tasks specifically. In MS Outlook (on the desktop) there are 2 types of recurring options for tasks. One is what I call fixed recurring. Like Recur Every 2 weeks, or Recur on the 1st Sunday of Every Month. The other type (and the most useful IMO) is recur after complete. For example, Recur 2 weeks after the task is marked complete. Or Recur 6 months after marked complete.
That is very handy to me as I do not always perform a task the day it is due. So, for example, if I have a task called Backup Computer and I need to backup every 7 days. If I backup 2 days late I do not want to backup again in 5 days (as would be the case with a fixed weekly recurring task). I want to be reminded to backup again 7 days from the date I did the backup.
This works great in MS Outlook 2002 on my desktop. But the pocket pc does not have this recurring option. So when that task is synched it is not correct in the pocket pc. And if you mark the task as complete in the Pocket PC and then synch it becomes a real mess in MS Outlook 2002!
Is there a solution to this. This is such a HUGE deal I cannot believe I am the only person this affects. If one cannot rely on his/her tasks then the task list feature is not much help.
