I dont know how to do this:

I put my work days on palm because I don't work monday thru friday or anything like that. I work 24 on and 48 off. So I do keep work days on my date book so I can see at a glance what days I am off and schedule around them. Well, on the days that I work, I put in 7am to 2355, and then for the next day, 1200 to 0700. I want to put notes of other things I need to do during those work hours, but don't see away to do that, ie, how do I put into my calendar on a day I am working that I want to make a phone call at a certain time, or put a notation that one of my famly members will be somewhere while I am at work?

Boy, I hope I can, cuz the last thing I want to do is purchase another new (new palm, more than too many new applications that I think are nifty) application, but will if I have to.

Paula,
Check out the DateBk apps from Pimlico. I use DateBk 5 and it does allow for scheduling past midnite. I believe DateBk 4 does also.

Hey, I also work a firefighter schedule. Here is how I do it.

My schedule is a 9 day cycle and I work day one, three and five 24 hours at a time. Because my schedule is always 8a-8a I select no time for the event.

What I do is put in my first shift and I call it "A" Shift 1. Then I select the repeat function and this day will repeat every 9 days. I also select "No Time" so it leaves the rest of the calendar day clear for other entries. (I even record work activities or Runs I had that day)

Then I put in my second shift and I call it "A" Shift 2. Then I select the repeat function and this day will repeat every 9 days.

Third shift I call "A" Shift 3. Then I select the repeat function and this day will repeat every 9 days. The key to this is making sure that you put in each day of your cycle seperately.

I hope this helps.

Thanks that is great solution. I'll pass it on to friends at the firehouse.

I can't wait to try it. Thanks. Your probably helped more than me with this as I am sure more have to schedule 24 hours at a time

Another thing I forgot to tell you. If you have a day off or are on vacation DO NOT DELETE or MODIFY that day on your regular schedule because it will change all the other repeats after that point

I just add another "NO Time" event and state "annual leave", "sick leave", "shift trade" or any other reason that you were not there that day.

Pretty simple, I wish I could take credit for this but one of the guys at Station 1 came up with this. I thought the guys at Headquaters Station just went on calls all day and night.

Sincerely,

Finman;)

If you are worried about clutter in your calendar, you can delete recurring events that have passed without screwing up the other events.

Ck this out... It looks like it allows you to integrate multiple shifts into your palm.....
