I am interested in finding a product that will allow me to export an existing data base to my Palm M515. I am an Assistant Principal and we use SASI, a student information system from NCS Pearson.

I believe what you need is not a program that will allow you to send data from your PC application to the Palm so much as an application on the Palm that can use the data you want to send. Most PC Data Base programs in the drop down menu under FILE will offer to export. Check and see what you are offered. For example your PC Program may offer to export your data to MS Access. If so you need a Palm application such as HandBase. Take a look and drop me a note.

I can export selected information from SASI using the method you described. I would like to have the same database funtionality on my palm that I do on my desktop. Also, I just dropped my Palm and it doesn't seem to want to come back on. Is it ruined.

Q: "Ruined". It is possible but unlikely that a drop would result in the complete ruination of the Palm. If the screen is not damaged the possibility exists that the connection to the battery was dislodged.
How do you feel about taking small electronic things apart? Is it under warranty?
Q: "Same Functionality." If your software on the PC has a Palm correlative then your ready to go. I suspect it does not. That being the case HanDBase for the Palm would allow for the design of a data base on the Palm that mimics the majority of your PC software's functionality. Check out the DDHSoftware.com site and perhaps give their tech support a call to see if someone else has gone down this same road before you.
