Upgrade Jornada 548

I currently have a hp jornada 548. I need to upgrade its operating system to the windows pocket pc 2002. Can anybody offer any assistance. The HP and the MS website offered no help. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The system is flashed into the unit, thus any upgrade has to come from the manufactur that made the unit - HP in your case. I have a 547 and have not heard of any upgrade available. I'd email them and ask.

I did email HP, and was told that they don't support upgrades to any of their Jordana hand held computers.

But their site did say that third party vendors might sell ROM upgrades. That's what I'm looking for - has anyone seen anything out there?

(I also understand that HP discontinued their handheld, after the merger with Compaq, in favour of their IPAQ handheld. This makes me feel really good about their continued support! NOT!)

I had read that the jornada was out - too bad in my mind but they didn't ask me :-)

You could type "rom ungrade" into a search engine and see what you find. I've heard of it on other brands but have never looked into it.

Sorry to say but you are out of luck. I called HP to do the same thing and was told that I would need to buy a newer unit.

I am going to see if I can sell my 548 and purchase a new Dell unit.
