Am I missing something? I have no Email app in my Tungston.

Additionally, I am missing a Memo Pad sync using Toffa Synwise for GroupWise.

Any ideas out there?

This is a very cool device, though...working great otherwise!

Install VersaMail for your email app. It's included on your bonus software CD. It works just fine.

But there is supposed to be the email app, right? Which means I have a lousy OS load? Any suggestions to get it back easily?

Also, still wondering about the Memo conduit. I have a NotePad conduit, but no memo. Strange.

No there is no ROM based email, it is a third party app that is on the setup disk, it seems that the new Palm way is depending on Third Party people to write the Apps, MP3, Video ECT....

Your email application IS the VersaMail, which needs to be installed. As Monon333 posted, the email app on the Tungsten is not ROM based. I was looking all over for it, too, when I first got my TT, since all my previous Palms had the email app in ROM and did not have to be installed.

You SHOULD, however, have a Memo Pad conduit in place. To check, right click the HotSync Manager icon in your System Tray and then left click on "Custom..." in the pop-up menu. You should see "Memo Pad" listed in the conduits. Mine is immediately under "To Do List". Also, make sure it is set for "Synchronize"

Thanks for the advice, I'll install VersaMail. Missed the notion that would be 3rd party.

I don't have a MemoPad conduit, though. I am waiting for a reply from Palm. Maybe they will have something.

thanks,

You could back up your Palm data files (i.e. copy them to a different subdirectory on your hard drive), use Windows' Add/Remove Programs module in Control Panel to remove Palm Desktop, and then reinstall the Palm software from the CD. Your MemoPad conduit should install along with all the others.
