How do you get e-mails (Inbox/Outbox) to appear on the PALM.? .. I've gone into the Palm desktop settings, Am I looking in the right place?

You need to add email service to Outlook first. Open Outlook, go to tools, go to services and then add email. Proceed to setup your current email account. If you have problems with that, I'll show you how to set that up. I'll need your email provider and your address to to do so. Let me know!!!!!

Jimroad,
Are you sure about that?
I've already got my e-mail accounts set up in Outlook.
From what I have read the settings to get the Outlook Inbox /outbox e-mails to appear on the Palm are made via Palm desktop software (v4.1).
I believe I read something about PocketMirror not providing this function, It had to be done by the Palm Desktop software.

Yes Alan,
If you have the account already written on Outlook, then just go to mail setup from Desktop and choose Outlook.

XP PRO
Outlook 2000 SR-1 (Set up as workgroup /corporate... In other words it will bump your other e-mail account automatically)
Palm Desktop 4.1
Pocket Mirror 3.0.2
PDA : Palm III Running OS V 3.0.2
Jimroad,
As per your suggestion.... I went into the OUTLOOK e-mail properties sheet . (TOOLS -Services- Then select properties)
Now my e-mail is screwed up. . ...
What I did was make a copy of one of my e-mail accounts,.. then I planned on giving it another name.. Should have know better....
As soon as I did this my e-mailed died on that account. All the settings appear correct but that account is DOA now..(*&##@^@*)()
I remember reading sometime about PocketMirror /Palm Desktop... Something about if you change a setting you have to re-install pocket mirror... Or Palm desktop, or both.
Anyone had this problem? Am I "barking up the right tree so to speak?
Alan,
MS help desk... Format the hard drive.... Fixes everything!
(Well, not really.. but it fixes almost everything....)

Well guys,
In the last few fun filled hours I have:
Backed up Outlook data
Uninstalled Pocket Mirror
Uninstalled Palm Desktop
Tried to " Repair my Outlook Installation Via Office setup...
Uninstalled Outlook when "that" didn't work..
Re-installed Outlook... (Noticed when it re-installed everything was the same... I guess I could try deleting the directory in case something there is corrupt. I usually do so, I just forgot.)
E-mail Still not working...
Re-installed Palm Desktop
Re-installed Pocket Mirror...
Thinking it was missing a dll file....
Still E-mail is NOT working for my "primary" e-mail account.
It did send and receive one e-mail I think....
So I figure I should maybe try changing the password/name of the non-working account, saving, exiting, restart... And then change the password/name back... Maybe something is corrupted there?
Any ideas guys? I sure this has happened before....

Alan,
I don't know what to tell you. I have Office '97 with Outlook and all I have to do is setup email account on Outlook and then choose Outlook for my email setup. I use Outlook Express 'cause it's must faster but than use Outlook if I choose to at any time. I know this might be a pain but go to Microsoft Office updates and see if you find a patch.

Well Guys....
I got the Outlook e-mail working again.
Un-installed EVERYTHING and re-installed it all back again.
Now the e-mail acount(s) are working.
Now I'm off to re-install PocketMirror...
PS: If I don't plan on using Palm Desktop, do I have to install it? I noticed the sync manager and install tool is part of it, and I would imagine it has hooks (for a lack of a better word) That Pocket Mirror uses to run????....
Or is Pocket Mirror a standalone?
:D

Alan,
Desktop installs the mail program. Pocket Mirror is a conduit between Outlook, Desktop and your device. I want you to right click the hot sync icon in your service tray and then click "custom",highlight "mail" and then click "change" and make sure it is set to synchronize with Outlook by default.... Good Luck
