I've recently been having an issue with my Thera. With the phone switch on, the phone wants to reset itself when I am in other software programs. When the resets occurs the screen that says
" Initializing one moment please" appears until the phone gets the signal. This will occur normally within moments of going to another program. Anyone else experiencing this and could another user tell me what files they have in the main memory root directory. I did recently get a program that "cleans up" old files left behind when software is uninstalled and its possible I have had a file erased that should not of been.
If I turn the phone portion of the Thera off I can stay in a program with no issues.

There are many software companies out there that claim they're software will remove any tid bits. Some good, some bad.
If you are using reputable software then I would not worry, but if this is a free download, watch out. Most software nerds are just testing this software to see how popular and complete it is. I am not sure if norton has a version of clean sweep for pocket pc, but you get my drift.
Another sugestion, if you can, do a hard reset of your unit, and re-install you software.
if this is helpful and you need help, email me..

I've not done a hard reset yet. I have a backup software that was highly recommended , Sprite Backup. I have made a backup but not sure if I do a hard reset, and I use this backup, and if there was a file I erased it would this still put me in the same position I am in now.
What does the hard reset exactly do? I thinking it does a format of the memory and then it puts the PDA back into same state as when I bought it? Is this right?
Thanks for help.

A hard reset brings the unit back to the fresh out of the box state. There is rom (read only memory) in the unit that stores the operating system and any extras included with the unit from the factory that cannot be modified.
If you do this, rename your owner name on the unit back to what it was before(after the hard reset put pda back on cradle it will ask you what you want as the owner name) ...., and all of your files and programs will be returned.
Sometimes a few programs get missed but all are in your my docs for the pda somewhere on your computer.
Your unit should be fine after that.
If a hard reset does not fix the problem, then your unit has lost its rom (which is almost impossible)
I have a lot of stuff on my thera, and after I did a hard reset to mine the other day it took about 30 - 45 min to get back to normal again so no fear my friend.
Good Luck!
