Warranty after RMA

I finally got my IQUE back after a months visit @ garmin in UK. I think a red about warranty after RMA but I can't find it. What's the story? Do I get another year? The IQUE I got is brand new, I think, even though the serial is quite low (9029xxxx). However, the GPS is showing its last location was garmin in taiwan...

The warranty in the US is 1 year from date of purchase. There is also a 90 day warranty on any repairs so the total is: "1 year from date of purchase or 90 days from repair, whichever is LATER"

But that's the US warranty. No idea if the same terms cover the UK or not.

Now, what makes it interesting is if you have them cross ship you a new unit. You pay for it and then they give you a credit on the return of your defective unit. Technically...that's a new purchase and the warranty period starts then, not when you purchased your original unit. My "cross shipped" unit has been 100% perfect for almost 5 months now...so I'm gonna hope I never have to test whether my warranty ends in November of 2004 or April of 2005.

Interesting note on a similar subject....the charge for the upgrade to City Select NA v6 has yet to show up on my debit card, even though the charge was made about 15 days before the closing date of the statement. We'll see what happens with next month's statement.

I didn't "cross-ship". Don't know if that's possible in UK. Maybe Bokkie knows?

However, I got CS Europe v6 with my new IQUE and unlock codes, thats a real +. I also got and extra sync cradle which is great since I can have one at work and one at home.
No extra charge for this.

Maybe they gave me all this cause I had to wait one month to get is back... :p
