palm zire 71 won´t synch

Dear All,

I just gor my Zire a few days ago, tried to install the software on my PC (windows xp) all went well, but it wont perform Hotsynvh. It keeps saying that some files need to be backed up! Its very frustrating since this is my first effort to become a pda user and I dont want to end it this way. Any ideas??? Thanks

Can you please post the exact text of the error message you're getting? "It keeps saying that some files need to be backed up" is not helpful in being able to diagnose your problem.

The message goes like this: <Hot synch operation was interrapted. Some of your data was NOT backed up. For details tap on HotSynch Log>

When I did this it said:<Hot synch operation was interrapted. Some of your data was NOT backed up. An application on the PC failed to respond to a confirmation query. This application may need to be restarted>

Any ideas????

Please right click on the hotsync icon and then select "View Log". Copy and paste the log results into a message here so I can have a look at it. This probably what's known as 8009 error and is caused by a third party program conduit. If you are using Documents to Go, the first thing I'd suggest is you go to their web site and makes sure you have the latest update for your version installed as Doc to Go is a known problem for this type of error.
