I need Instalattion cd for sony clie nx 70 v

Hey guys I need installation cd for clie nx 70 v. Bought mine of ebay , but it came with no cd. Pls help

Also if you have any ideas how to hot sync it with computer without cd that would be very helpfull too.

You can use the Palmone "Palm Desktop" to sync the handheld to your desk/laptop. It works just fine.

i tried that but for some reason my computer is not recognizing my handheld. Any tips to solve that?

The problem is you need the USB drivers for the Clie, which aren't the same as the USB Drivers for the Palm. Unfortunately, Sony doesn't provide a place to download these drivers. Buying an Palm OS machine without the installation CD is a mistake but buying a Clie without one is a real mistake because you won't have the right drivers or have any of the unique Clie software that comes on the installation CD.

If you just want drivers, you can go to http://www.thedieterichs.com/ and then to Dowloads, Clie, Drivers. I'd really suggest you give Sony tech support a call and order the original CD since there a bunch of programs on there that make your NR70 more useful. It's only $10 plus shipping.

I downloaded drivers but I cant install them. When I try to tell location of the drivers it cant find any files in there.
Any suggestions? I really dont want to buy that cd of sony ,but it looks more and more like i have to do that

Did you unzip the file and then double click on install.exe? If so, are you still getting an error? It may be that the USB drivers aren't present in the file, only the SCSI drivers. If that's the case, try the attached file. Unzip, right click on the INF file and choose install. Try syncing again and see if your Clie is now recognized.

You should still get the original CD. You're missing some good programs because you don't have it.

I tryed doing that,but i am getting error message telling me that sdktl.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Do you have any other ideas? We are getting really close i think.

Which files give you the errror, the one you downloaded from the web site or the one I attached? Assuming it's the one from the website, you should first try the file I sent as these are the base files you need for USB connectivity. If you're able to connect after using the file I attached, try running the setup.exe file in the downloaded NR70-70V_MS_Driver.zip file. If you still a get an error, download the file again as the first download might have gotten corrupted.

The files that you attached are giving me problem. When I tryed to manually install them it says that there is no system information in that file. When I right click and install it gives me that error message.

Just to make sure we're on the same page:

1. Unzip the file to a temporary directory. Don't try to install the files directly from the zip file.

2. Right click on the Clhs009a.inf file and then choose install. Ignore the other files.

Do you get the error if you go through this exact sequence? What version of Windows are you using? Is this an English lanuage version or another language?

New problem. I downloaded cd of internet.
My handheld is getting recognized, but when i try to sync i get and error message that says "hotsync operation was interrupted. Some data was NOT backed up. For details tap hotsync log." When i tap hot sync log it say " Hot sync operation was terminated. Some of the data not backed up. An application on the Pc failed to respond to a confirmation query. This application may need to be restarted." When i restart i get same message.

Download the Hotsync Check file and install it according to the directions provided. This should help track down the application that has a bad DLL file that's causing the problem. If you have Documents to Go, that would be my first suspect. You may need to upgrade the version you have now.

I got it figured out. There was two palm desktops installed. One for clie would not sync. Regular palm desktop did the trick tho. Thank you for all your help I really appriciate it

Thanks for putting up a ZIP file that had the USB drivers, but I followed those instructions...and nothing happened.
