I'll be traveling in the UK and will be bringing my Garmin bean bag dash holder that plugs into the 12v outlet. Will that charge my iQue to full charge or do I need to bring the travel charger too?

I'm getting tight on space and would like to eliminate the travel charger.

Thanks,

George

The bean bag holder (12V cig lighter) will charge the iQue.

George, I've been using my beanbag like you have in mind for nearly a year now. I never had the iQue die on me while using it.

I think it charges the iQue just as good as it does, while sitting in the desktop cradle.
The problem is, that it does not charge the iQue equally well, when the iQue is on. It takes longer time.
Since it's far more likely that you have the iQue on in the car cradle, than that you keep it on all the time in the desktop cradle, this implies that it takes much longer time to charge it fully in the car.
At least I've found that if I'm out camping, and don't have access to an AC outlet for a while, that's no problem at all, as long as the kids don't play games all evening on the iQue. But if the battery runs empty, then it takes a lot of driving, with the GPS on, to come back to full power again.

George,

I guess the caveat about battery life comes to mind as well. Like Anders mentioned, continuous car usage may not necessarily mean the iQue battery is fully charged when you remove it from the cradle. You might need to take into account that your battery may not last too long when taken out of the cradle, so you might lag behind a bit. It all depends how your battery performs. Mine (before RMA) lasted only about 40 minutes. You'll know what your battery can sustain.
