Toshiba 2.0GB HDD not working with dual expansion sleeve?

Hi all,
I have just bought the dual expansion pack with two type II slots for my IPAQ. I upgraded the ROm version of my IPAQ to 1.65. But it still does not detect my toshiba HDD. do I need a compact flash PC card adaptor or do I just plug it in and it will work.

NO adaptors should be required. The Toshiba HD is a type II card and should work OK straight out of the box.

Have you :-

Plugged the HD into a laptop to see if it registers
Formatted the HD with any file system other than FAT/FAT32
Tested the expansion sleeve by plugging in other cards in both slots.
Made sure the expansion sleeve is fully charged - check the battery status from the settings screens

I found that I had to partition and format my HD using my w2k laptop

Hi,
I bought my Toshiba HDD from ebay. It works fine with a laptop but I have not tried it with my PDA. aS someone has suggest that I sgould format it I have to get hold of a Laptop to check if it will work with my IPAQ 3150.

Just in case my last post was confusing - when you format the Hard disk, make sure you only format using FAT or FAT32.

NTFS does NOT work on the PocketPC.

Hi,
I have formated the harddisk on laptop which had Windows XP installed to Fat but still the IPAQ does not pick it up.
The HDD gets picked up immediately by the laptop but in the IPAQ there is some software issue I think.
Do you know some place I can download a driver for the Toshiba 2.0 HDD.

You shouldn't need a driver. I plugged mine in and it worked straight away - lucky me.

Are you using PocketPC2002 ? I don't know of any pre 2002 issues but who knows ?

Does your Dual Slot work with other cards ?

Try using the hdd in slot 1 (the slot closest to the iPAQ).
