I have a PalmVx with Palm modem and a Motorola i1000 cell phone. Shouldn't I be able to connect from the phone to the RJ-11 plug on the modem with a simple cable? The only "solutions" I can find are Palm to Motorola cables ($50) plus subscribing to an email-only service ($10/mo).
TIA

The cable is the way. I don't think you need the email service if you already have an Internet Service Provider. Does that Motorola support IR? If so that is an option perhaps.

Bob,
Since the Palm and Nextel are digital devices, you don't need the modem to connect to the i1000. You will need the cable[URL=http://www.thesupplynet.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=5445] from supplynet.com for $49. This is not the only cable option, but from the searching I've done, seems to be a good one. I wish Nextel would adopt the infrared port which would make the cable unnecessary of course. Currently have an i30 myself, and considered getting the cable, but believe Nextel may charge up to $15 extra for using data, but don't require a seperate IP. Bought a modem recently on ebay for $5, and using Eudora Web and Eudora Mail. Still looking for a free browser that supports images though.
