Installing new software

I was wondering if there was any performance reason as to install software in the default location? I have 256mb SD memory and have the iPaq 3835 with only 64mb on it. My internal memory is starting to run out and I would like to start installing the software to the SD memory.

Installing in the default location uses main memory; if you have additional storage, especially if the storage is relatively permanent (such as a 256 or 512M SD), installing large programs will help keep the amount of main memory available for the PPC O/S. In my experience all programs have been installable on the SD (select "No" when prompted to install to default location, then use dropdown to select Storage card).

Thank you very much. I knew that I could choose to install it to the SD card, but didn't know if there was any downsides to doing that.
