Newbie here. Performed a couple of searches and did not find matter related to my issues. I have Pocket PC 2003 and am frustrated by the notes section of Pocket Outlook. I have pages and pages of notes in some of my contacts. As these notes files become larger, the speed at which data can be entered into them decreases proportionally to the point where data input slows to the most painful of crawling.
My question is this: do any of the "aftermarket" software programs, like "Pocket Informant", address and remedy this limitation of "Pocket Outlook's" notes area? Appreciate any help with this in advance.

I had seen a bit about that product before your reply, answer, and have since gone in and read quite a lot about it and even browsed some forums regarding that product. Nowhere can I find that it specifically addresses the note SIZE issue I have. All I want is a solution to that specific issue; note size and speed problems associated with pocket outlook. Can you speak to this? Do you know that phatnotes specifically solves that issue?

The only way to be sure is to try the program out, they do offer fully functional 30 days trial on PhatNotes.

I was close to downloading and using the trial version, but then I thought to myself, "what if I don't love the program after 30 days and a whole boatload of data in phatnotes is permanently lost due to the expiration of the trial?". That scenario I can ill afford. The notes I take are vital and directly tied to money in my pocket. So, without knowing for sure ahead of time that a program will address my issue, I am just not willing to take the chance. Maybe I'm missing something and being overly skeptical when I think I'm trying to remain open-minded, but that's where it stays until somebody can assure me that phatnotes or some other program will solve my problem. Thanks for your help all the same, answerdude.

If your data is important, i would recommend you backing up the pocketpc. Even unrelating to testing this software, you should back up the unit either by syncing the date to desktop's outlook or backup the unit to storage card and/or desktop. Depending on what pocketpc you have, it should have a decent backup utility.
I'm not sure anyone can answer you to your satisfaction because nobody has your exact set of data. Speed is also a fairly subjective thing and there are a few more factors than can effect speed. You can try to contact the developer and ask them as well to be sure that the data won't be damaged. I would assume that they will not be in business very long if their programs destroy customer's data.

I sync with my home computer every night. Maybe I am just now starting to grasp that as long as I sync, then I will be able to access my notes on my home machine even after the phatnotes trial is over, but nowhere in their faq's or anywhere else on their site does it address after-trial accessibility of files. Maybe I do need to do as you suggest and just try out the free trial. i'll keep you posted, if you're curious.
