sometimes when i'm online for more than an hr. on my 2215 i get knocked off from my v710. when i try to re-connect nothing happens. it just says calling #777 and it freezes up sort of. after doing a soft reset everything is back to normal... it works again.

anyone know why this is? has this happened to anyone else?

thanks

I haven't had a problem with my v710, but then again, I haven't been on line for hours(!)

Maybe it's a safety feature to keep you from going crazy, given the speeds you surf using your cell phone... I don't know how you are able to do it!

well last night it didn't even connect on the first try. I have a feeling it is on my IPAQ end not the v710 as after I do a soft reset on the 2215 it will connect with my v710 right away.

I mean i did have my CF card installed at the time and i did have some other programs running at the same time but... that should not stop the IPAQ from connecting with the v710 right?

It just keeps saying "Dailing #777..." and finally "Cannot connect for unknown reason blah blah blah..."

Soft resets do not harm the OS right?

Maybe its just buggy

BTW- the speeds are not that bad. I am very very surprised as some pages only take a few seconds to load with full graphics. Maybe I'm using the 1x network? i don't know... i hope not because i don't want to get charged!!!!

I just got a V710 a few days ago and am using it to dialup via Bluetooth with my 2215. I found the same problems with the connection to the phone failing after having worked. Here is what I found needs to be done to make it work repeatedly:

Network Management needs to be set to My Work Network. Every time I can't connect I find it set to Bluetooth Settings. Apparently when you connect via BT manager, it changes this on its own. Then when you finish your session, use the connectivity icon at the top of the screen to get to the disconnect command. After telling the PPC to disconnect I find that the network setting is automatically switched back from BT to My Work Network. If the session is ended unexpectedly for any reason (including telling the PPC to turn off BT), the network setting will be wrong the next time you try to connect.

I don't know the reason behind all of this but I have had the sme type of problems when switching from activesync via BT, WIFI and USB in the past which led me to look at the network settings first this time. This is operating system stuff which isn't unique to the 2215. My previous 3955 and Jornada 520 had similar issues with using one connection method and then other methods that previously worked were broken. The newer OS on the 2215 improved those things greatly but not completely.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the tip, I will see if that helps... but

Now I have yet another problem with the OS  i can get online using my v710 but now I can't get to any webpages! An error msg says, "Can not find page..." or something to that effect. But when I enter a page I want to go to I notice the v710 does not light up (where you see the packet data symbol) showing that its doing data transfer which means IE is not doing anything....

i don't know its frustrating but I guess you can't expect the world (yet) with PPCs.

Any idea why this would happen? I mean at the time I was using Windows Media at the same time (listening to music on head phones) but i don't see how that can mess with IE not being able to load pages... oh well...
