Hello all,

Now, still being very new to this forum I am not sure that what I have found is common knowledge or if I have found something to help all us budding aviation freaks who wish to use the iQue for aviation. (in Australia anyway)

I am yet to experience the joy of owning an iQue 3600 so until then I have been searching the net for ways to use the iQue in the air.

Maptrax.com.au have aviation charts for all of Australia including ERC, VTC, WAC and VNC charts. They are used in conjunction with Fugawi software. I rang them up and was greeted with a rather cold reception and after convincing the rather uncharming lady on the other end that the iQue was in fact a Palm based unit, she confirmed that their maps would do the trick, in conjunction with the Fugawi software.

So naturally I turned to all of you, who actually know something about the iQue, for a little advice.

Firstly has anyone used the Maptrax aviation maps with the Fugawi software and the iQue? What are your thoughts?

Also, apparently, only recent versions of the Fugawi software work with the iQue, does anyone know what version is needed to work with the iQue?

Just after your thoughts

If they work with Fugawi, they should work like all the rest. Fugawi works very well on the iQue. Several forum members including me use it. Very pleased. Note that it is not for vector maps, but there is a two step zoom in zoom out to double the density.

You could also ask the vendors if the software you want works with Pathawy, costs less can often do more.

Be sure that Fugawi can change the map sets as you fly along. Normally it should, but ask them to be sure (in writing). If it works on a Palm, it works on the iQue.

AS you buy and install Fugawi 3, you will upgrade to the most recent release which is now 3.1.4.653 over the web (17 MB). There are about 4 upgrades a year, but the´se are easy enough to do, only you need the original CD in your desktop as you do it.

And once you got it, give us a few screenshots and tell us how it works.
