problem syncing w/ 2 comps

ok.
im using my ipaq to sync between my notebook and laptop so that all contacts and appts stay consistent thru both comps.

but the problem is, when its syncing, its putting double appointments on comp and ipaq.

ie:
3.00-3.30 meet w/ dulaney
3.00-3.30 meet w/ dulaney

is how its appearing on everything.
how do i eliminate this problem?

i see what i did.

i went back and deleted that partnership and tried again,
and i noticed that there is a box that pops up asking if you wanted to copy over existing contacts/appts or add to them.
i chose to copy over this time and it works flawlessly.
yay.
