Well, if the power/memory/compatibility problems were not bad enough, us who bought our e740 for about $600 can be happy to know that the unit can now be bought for far less from Amazon. EarthVillage.com lists the e740 in the bargain center, with a link to Amazon.com. I found the below information when I did a google search on the e740 today...
"Toshiba e740 Pocket PC, 400Mhz Xscale CPU, 64MB RAM, Dual CF and SD card slots, integraded WiFi 802.11b network. $50 price drop. $519 - $100 rebate - $50 rebate = $369 shipped."
Now Im not too happy!! I wounder if Toshiba has decided to dump thier inventory due to all of the problems, and release an improved unit. :mad:
PS. So far other than a few Hard Resets/Loss of RAM, my e740 is working good. As of yet I am not having the battery/charging problems, before or after the upgrade. KNOCK-ON-WOOD:(
