Hello! Has anybody out there been doing any programming of the Windows CE.NET platform?

I'm only an amateur and so don't really want to make the great investment of time and money in such doobries as MC Embedded Visual C++ and the associated SDKs - which are absolutley huge!

My angle is basic / C or other small-footprint compiled / interpretive language. Can't seem to find very much "out there". Pocket C for CE seems to have stalled (although it's still available for purchase) NSBasic CE seems a tad dear...

Any suggestions for dipping my toe in the pool at a low cost, but still reasonably useful? :)

Cheers!

Hmmm, yes I'd taken a look around the site you mention.

Well so far I've bought the "old" version of PocketC Desktop edition for WinCE to play with, and will also probably play with JAVA. This latter one because it's pretty much "cross-platform" and the run-times are avaialbe for just about every machine. It's also rather C-like.

I did manage to find a copy pf BASICE as well but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
