As yet another Public Service announcement from the Moose Man:

Life@Hand is showing a release date of December 17th.

Oooooh, Oooooh, Mr. Kotter - pick me, pick me!

Public Beta testing, to the best of my knowledge has not yet started.

I won't know if I'll replace Agendus as my primary planner until at least the 18th of December.

Ok, Public Service Announcement #432 is now over.

Life@Hand (http://www.lifeathand.com/)

P.S. Reinbeau - I know your "concerns" over Parker and his previous products....and they may well be warranted. This is strictly a Public Service Announcement.

This complicates matters. The Agendus - DateBK5 battle is easy to follow. Two combattants, understandable frontlines.
But with a third chiming in from the left, it may convert to guerilla war!

Yes but probably not until December 17th when the product is released.

EDIT:

And if it's going to be a guerilla war, as you referenced, that sounds as if your insulting Reinbeau since I'm a Moose. ;) so does that make her........

I'm sticking with Datebk5/Phone Magic combo, the support is outstanding on both products. Howie is working on the hi-res version of Phone Magic, then the package will be complete as far as I'm concerned. Parker's lack of support for the Garmin iQue has soured me on his products.

And no, there will be no warring from this she-ape :D

Excuse me? Following the link given by Moose Man I can see
- nice icon art
- fuzzy, non-specific promises of features to be delivered in a relatively short time frame, or at some (unspecified) later time
- more hilarious claims
- and no desktop component until "later"

Why is this exciting?

Just one quote: "Motivation for success. Install add-on quote packages and let Life@Hand keep you motivated."

That is world class BS! Ouch.

You need to understand something about this forum - there has been a very friendly rivalry regarding the differences between Agendus and Datebk5 with this announcement of Life@hand time line - it will add fuel to the proverbial fire.

That's what will make it "exciting". ;)

Oh. OK. I'll stand back and watch.

I understand that the choice of a software tool is highly subjective, and debates can become emotional. An objective benchmark is needed! Since I use neither Agendus nor DateBook5 I am unbiased, and suggest this benchmark:

Say Agendus, Agendus, Agendus, Agendus,... as quickly and often as you can.

Then say Datebook, Datebook, Datebook, Datebook,... as quickly and often as you can. It is OK to drop the 5.

Faster and longer (more stable) is obviously better. And the winner is...?

:D

Or say Ogopogo backwards...hmm, never mind.

I have used Agendus and DateBK5 extensively and I can honestly say I've never had a problem with any Life@hand product that I ever (never) used. :D

The cat pounces but the springbok(kie) was already there (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46820&highlight=palindromic). Of course, the latter had to complicate matters by refering to "palindromic".

I've said it before, and I say it again: Can't we all write in Swedish, and I can, for once, be among the leaders in subtle double meanings of just about every word there is?????:p

Your English and subtle double meanings are just fine....it's my warped sense of the Agendus and Datebk5 war.

It's not a war, it's a friendly discussion. At least us DateBK5 users are very friendly, aren't we, Ann?

We certainly are. We even post the links to updates to Agendus, when the animal contingent falls down on the job! Datebk5 users are friendly and helpful, and use a friendly, helpful program. ;)

Oh, please! It's a full blown Gorilla War and you two know it. :D

So I'm not suppose to be "friendly". :D

For those of you who don't know us.....this is a friendly discussion and not a gorilla war. It's a Moose War.

And to keep it real: I have always stated that both programs serve different purposes. Datebk5 is a calendar based program albeit a good one. Agendus is a Contact Manager program albeit the Best one. If your contemplating either program - they both have trial versions available. Datebk5 will corrupt the icon's of Agendus due to @@@ being used for icon encoding.

I'm not posting the links to either because I'll let the moderator do that. ;) in her response to this less than productive OT thread that we are so fond of here at PDAStreets. ;)

Yes we are, and I wouldn't have it any other way. As I told Anders, I'm off to northern Maine to see real moose, instead of arguing programs with a cyber-moose :D Everyone play nice now!

And to keep this on topic yes, Betty will accompany us and keep track of our travels.
