Hi,

I just bought a WCF12 linksys wireless CF card and I own a Jornada 547 (it has an SH3 chip). Active sync won't install the driver for it and even if i import the package into the handheld. It won't install it and says that the device is not compatible.

The people at linksys were no help to me. I was hoping someone might know what is the problem and if there is any solution to this at all? I suspect that the drivers are not written for the SH3 chip.

Thank you.

have you found any solution or work around? I´m having the same problem with my Jornada 548 (SH3 too!) :-(

You are absolutely correct. I too purchased a card. They do not have an SH3 driver. I sent them a nasty e-mail and they added me to the list of Jornada owners. They say that they are working to develop a driver.

I was forced to return my product. Linksys really was absolutely no help but they are saying that they are working on a new driver. when they come out with one then i will probably buy it again.. it will probably be much cheaper (looking at the pricing trend on wireless!)

Great News! Linksys posted their driver today and everything works! I would strongly recommend this CF card. I only paid $67 at ecost.com and it works great!

I too initially had difficulty with getting the driver to load on my jornada ("... not compatible device"), but after downloading the driver from the linksys site the card worked great. However, I'm still having a problem with ethernet and activesync.... while I can browse the web and get my email over the wireless ethernet connection I can't get my jornada to activesync with my pc over this connection. Any ideas? Thanks!

My activesync ethernet problem with the linksys card is solved! Woohoo! and it's all thanks to this board.... I found a hint on another thread that suggested putting the "sync pc"'s IP address into the WINS server address place of the linksys driver on the pocket pc.... and for the very fisrt time in over a week of trying my jornada could sync over the wireless ethernet. I thouhgt I'd better post that fix here since I was sure that this would be the next problem for all of those who managed to get the linksys card working with the downloaded driver. Thanks!

I have a question about this card....How is the service provided? 802.11b or is it used with a provider like Sprrint, ect.?

Hello,

I'm having the exact same problem, but with a Jornada 548. I'm able to get the PDA to talk to my Linksys WAP11 ok (getting a signal), but the PDA is unable to get an IP address assigned to it.

I am still waiting on the Linksys folks to get back to me as well...but your post doesn't sound promising!

Paul

Hi,

Are you sure that DHCP is enabled through your wireless router? If not you need to assign a local IP to your handheld. I just recently bought the card (again) adn it has been working great (till recently when it seems to ahve broken on me :( )
