I'm moving back to my country, Thailand next month. I'm planing to keep my iQue 3600.
As far as I know there is no detail map for Thailand yet. Garmin Worldmap is not much help at all. I found a free Thailand map online, http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com//maplist.php?id=52 . But the data is IMG file. I'm wonder how can I make it work with my iQue? Do I need any special program to make it work?

Thank you,

Just rename your new .img file to GMAPSUPP.img and copy it to your SD card, after suitable renaming (or deletion) of your previous file of the same name. This file contains all the detailed maps that you have previously loaded, and will be replaced by your new Thailand map. You can always swap back if you want to view the old detailed maps again. Removal and re-insertion of the SD card after copying the new gmapsupp.img file will let your iQue load the new detailed map.

If you wish to keep your old detailed maps visible together with your new Thailand map, things become a little more involved. You will need to get the new map visible in Mapsource by using a suitable compiler (try Mapdekode) to build the necessary .tdb and overview map set with the required Windoze registry entries. It is not impossible (actually rater easy) but certainly not for the novice. Do a search on this forum for Mapdekode or Mapedit, that will lead you to several tutorials on how to achieve this. Forum member rwsmith123 also has a tutorial on his site, do a search for his user name to find the location.

Thank you. It works great. :) I will have to learn how to combine those small maps into one big map.

Since it was mentioned above, I'd like to add that the Mapsource WorldMap product is of no use whatsoever to iQue owners. It's no better than the basemap, which is provieded, for free, with every iQue.
