Hi for all who regulary do resets and do not know of the feature in alarm+ which allows you to automatically open programs and change/ restore settings attached is a good little program he wrote for me (sad I could not do it myself as it looks so simple) which after a soft reset changes the autoswtich off time from the default 30mins to an amount of your choosing. In the OPL attached the time is 7 minutes (420 seconds) after a reset, I attach the line I use to run th program which I have put
in the Apps folder on the C:\ you need to change this to wherever you store the program. (if you are a unaware as me of programiing, you need to click translate after you have set the seconds you want in the opl to get the opo)
run line I use in Alarm+ startup option: open
C:\system\apps\alarm+\switchoff.opo
It is sad that Robin has now left psion he contributed some great
additions.

Has robin now stopped all Psion Development work? I was hoping he was going to fix a couple of things on Alarm+......doh. I last heard from him back in Feb and he was working on a couple of fixes for Alarm+ but his website has never been updated. I noticed that Midas is still posting on here (just upgraded his netBook battery), does he know any more about this?

Has Robin Hood / King Midas really left Psion development for good? News to me, and quite sad.

Sorry for dissapointing you, but yes, Robin stopped EPOC development, so there will be no new versions of his software. He has even thown his 5mx away. I myself still use 5mx and netBook everyday, but I have no idea how to write in C++.

Yikes! Is there any chance he can release his source code so that other people may continue the great work he has done?
It would be such a shame to see more software disappear into the ether...

Definitely. Can you have a word with him Midas as the loss of such great titles would be a massive loss to the community. I am sure there would be one or two developers willing to take on these titles and continue work, where necessary aswell.

I'll ask Robin; however I'm not sure that he will want to share the sources. The reason is simple: EPOC code can be ported to Symbian 6/7 and this platphorm is a commercial one. Moreover, Robin writes for Symbian powered smartphones now and he need his own sources himself :).
Then, there are no other C++ programmers who writes for EPOC! Nobody can continue developing Robin's programs :(.
But they won't disappear as I'm not going to close my site mypsion.ru - and there you will always find Robin's (and my) progs.

As I supposed, Robin said that it's not a good idea to provide the sources to our competitors ;)

Oh well, that is fair enough. Please send Robin all our best wishes and thanks for creating some great tools for us. Maybe we will need his Symbian 6/7 talents if Psion ever port a Netbook Pro with such an OS.........fingers crossed. ;)
