I have a M500 that powers up fine, but the stylus does not respond to the screen. When it powers up I get the start up screen & can't go any farther. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

DrMud 11-10-2002, 10:54 AM When you say the "start up" screen are you saying the Welcome Application or the main application screen? Do the application buttons work? If the button work it is probably the cable. A loose cable from the digitizer to the mother board will result in this problem. You will need a Torx Screwdriver. Press the cable tight onto the mother board. Doc PS: gethightech.com has a link to a source for screwdrivers if you need one. They also show how to get the case apart. OldBlue 11-10-2002, 01:54 PM Jeepman Have you tapped the startup screen with the stylus? I know that some Palms will stay at the startup screen until tapped. That should take you to the welcome screens, where you will calibrate the digitizer and set the date and time. If that doesn't work, you might also try a hard reset. With the power on, hold down the power button and press the Reset. OldBlue jpf22467 11-20-2002, 02:23 PM you might need to open this one up. Sometimes when palm puts these together, so glue gets stuck inside. it causes some pressure to be put on the screen. The palm thinks that you are trying to input something, so it wont reconize the stylus. I have seen this a couple of times. Just open it up, and try to put it back together. If that doesnt work, open it again and look for any "extra" dabs of glue on the case PDA Street
