Hello People,
I have a MC 218 and I want to connect it to my laptop. But the problem is that my laptop (Fujitsu&Siemens Amilo M 6100) does not have the old 9 pin COM port. What it has is only a PS2 mouse port , USB , Firewire. Does anyone have an idea for making a workaround for this problem. I would be appreciated.
Waiting for response ,
Take care.

"EPOC Connect" can only connect with a serial COM port which can be selected in its 'Properties' dialog box. You therefore need to get a USB "Serial Port Replicator" - one of those devices that plugs into the USB port and gives you a serial port for the MC218's cable.

if your laptop has an infrared port (I've seen many that do) in theory you can sync using that, but since i don't own a laptop i wouldn't know (i have enough trouble connecting to my win98 desktop)
cheers

if your laptop has an infrared port (I've seen many that do) in theory you can sync using that .....provided you are using Windows 95, 98 or ME which support IrCOMM protocol and create a "Virtual IR COM Port" which can be selected in PsiWin Properties.
Many of the new laptops with no serial port may well be running Windows XP which (as far as I am aware) no-one has managed to use PsiWin over Infrared with.
