I load DOCs to my SD card but my reader can't read some of them. They read fine if I load them onto the Palm. Anyone know anything about SD card reading problems in the m130? I already installed a file program and verified that the docs ARE installed on the card. Help! The reader I am using is Tibr.

TiBR does have VFS card support so it should be able to read files from the SD card the same as it's able to read them from RAM. This is from the TiBR support FAQ:

Q: I have installed books but I see nothing in the TiBR document list. What is wrong?

A: There are several possible reasons. At first, the books can be in the wrong format. Check the database type of your books (it should be 'TEXt' for PalmDoc and 'zTXT' for zTXT). For plain text books check the extension (it should be '.txt' by default, but you can change it). If database type (or extension for plain text) is correct, please check memory card folder you use. The default folder for the books is '/Palm/Launcher'. If you use different folder you need to change books folder in TiBR configuration or make it look for books in all folders. If you still cannot see your books please contact support.

I used Tibr's formatting program to format the docs in question. Of a group that were installed to the card in the same hotsync, only a few can not be seen by Tibr (from the card). I used Filez to check that the docs were in the launcher folder, and they were. What is odd is that it's the same docs every time. I did a hard reset <sniff> and some of them are showing up now, but nowhere near all. I also tried formatting the docs with makedoc and it didn't resolve the problem.

I have seen a few mentions about the m130 having problems with large capacity SD cards, and this morning I saw that there was a SD card related upgrade for the m130 on the Palm website. I am using a 64 MB card. Could the m130 issues affect a 3rd party program? I confess that I am somewhat of a ditz on teh subject. This is my 1st Palm. I'll try the upgrade and get back to you, incase anyone else is having a similar problem.

Installed the upgrade and it didn't help. I am out of ideas.

I'd suggest you e-mail TiBR's customer support and describe your problem and see if they might have an answer. There are also other free e-book readers at www.freewareplam,com that you could try installing and see ithey read the card contents correctly. This will help narrow down the problem to TiBR or the SD card.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

eReader reads everything just fine, so I wrote Tibr Support. They said the program will show only 200-500 files depending on how much dynamic memory my device has.

Bummer.

They suggested that I split the files into small folders and read docs from the folder I want.

Anyone know how I can create folders and copy docs into them?
