I have been thinking (stange prospect but never mind) and I had an idea. So many people have loads of useful hints and tips on Psions. Why not hold a Psion Users Conference?
I was reading about the Newton one at http://wwnc.newtontalk.net and it occured to me that we could do the same thing. With new ideas floating around like S7 ROM Upgrades, Bluetooth, WiFi, FTP Server etc... why not host a small conference where people can share their experiences.
If this idea seems popular, I am more than happy to help arrange it and possibly form a small commitee. I realise there is the Symbian conference in London but this could be aimed towards Psion EPOC (even Teklogix stuff). I have some friends here in the North East of England were a venue could be negotiated.
Let me know what you think

It's a nice idea, which I have no wish to dampen, but we have discussed this kind of thing in the past and the stumbling block always seems to be finding a mutually convenient date, time and location. :(
Much as people would like to attend, I think many could find it difficult if a fair bit of travelling were involved, especially if it meant that overnight accommodation would be needed too.
I guess that's why we all find PsionPlace so convenient! What does anyone else think?
Sorry to be negative, Seb, and I hope I'm wrong! I've voted yes, by the way - I would attend if I possibly could.

The Psion computer journal/society(http://www.psioncomputer.com/) are having a meet on 3rd December in Ironbridge, Shropshire. Has the benefit of being in a pub and they also have a talk about the Psixpda.
Not too far up the road for me so I might be there.

Any news or just speculation?

I didn't know about the Psion Computer Society meeting until now, even though I'm a member/subscriber. (Has anybody seen Issue 2 of the Journal yet, by the way?)
As for the Ironbridge meeting, I would love to go, but it's really too far for me to get there and back in the night.

I was looking at the Psion Computer Journal page, and discoverd this:

I hadn't heard about this before!
Getting back onto topic, the Shropshire meeting sounds interesting, but it is a little out-of-the-way for me. Why not something closer to London?

Yes, I spotted that too yesterday, when I went to the site to look up about this meeting. In fact, I have registered a nomination. :D

Down here in the Benelux, we (Psiongroup - part of PDAtotaal (http://www.pdatotaal.info)) organize 2 times a year a special Psionday in Zwolle. It's been held in a hotel, so if someone interested (from out of the Benelux) ... we could think it over to make it international ...
Lots of Belgian en Dutch Psioneers also participate in this forom ...
Take a look at our (Dutch) "homepage" witch will be updated soon with pictures of our latest meeting on 25-09-04

I think I know who you voted for, because of an indirect comment by Will Green on the Digest. (And no, I don't think it was for me:-)

Hmmm, think I must have missed some issues of the Digest - the last one I received was #607 on 3 October. I hadn't noticed, having been away this week - I presume there have been some more since then?

Hi Martin
I just received Digest #609, and it looks like I'm not the only one who missed out on #608. If it's no trouble, would you forward #608 to me please?
Painfully aware I owe you a long overdue e-mail too - I promise I'll be catching up soon!
Thanks
Julie
