I am a novice here when it comes to wi-fi, bluetooth, or SIDO. Therefore, forgive me for asking silly questions, if you will. Although, I know somewhat about these technologies, what I fail to understand is:

(1) what useful functionality would wi-fi, bluetooth, or SIDO add to iQue?

(2) is it just a way of hyping the new technologies without their demonstrated usefulness, especially for personal computing?

Did you mean "SDIO" instead of "SIDO"?

Can't see much usefulness to the iQue for these communication protocols for the GPS functions (maybe a wider variety of external antennae?). They would be more useful on the PDA side of the 'Que (wireless network connections, etc.)

However, by the time you add WiFi, SDIO and/or Bluetooth to the iQue, You've upped the cost in money, weight and complexity beyond anything I care to deal with. I use my iQue mostly for the GPS.

If you bought the iQue strictly for it's GPS abilities, then WiFi, Bluetooth and SDIO would seem like nice extras, but not important.

I use my iQue for everything. Since I don't travel with my laptop all the time. I want to use my iQue as a small replacement for it.

I would like bluetooth to be able to connect up to my laptop to get information from.

Also to be able connect up to my cell phone to be able to connect up to the internet when traveling.

Wifi, would be a nice option so I could check email and do limited web browsing while on the iQue.

SDIO would be great to also have the ability to use one of those add on cameras for the palms. Handy to have if you don't have your digital camera handy.

The SD slots in our Bettys have no IO capability.

If I remember correctly WiFi and Bluetooth were left out to eliminate interference with the GPS signal.

In one word: connectivity.

If you really want all that (Wi-Fi, bluetooth, SDIO, a 624MH Intel processor etc) on a fast PDA + GPS, go check out Dell's PDA + a Bluetooth GSP for less than $500.0. I cannot tell you whether the GSP is any good. Ique's GPS function is one the best on the market. However, Dell's PDA is definitely one of the best on the market.

If only the Dell had a CF slot for the CF Que to slide into.:(
