Hey everyone,
I was browsing through PDABuzz (http://www.pdabuzz.com/) and Handheld Computing magazine and notices that Pocket Sensei (http://www.pocketsensei.com/) has released its new "Super Dictionary." Here's my review:
Pocket Sensei's new Nexus dictionary, which can be found at http://www.pocketsensei.com/nexus.htm,
is a neat little app for the Palm OS. It's only $14.95 and has a 21-day trial. That's what I'm evaluating it on. So far it seems jam packed with definitions and the optional expandablity via DEX support (Digital Expansion Library) offers a never before seen phenomenon in the world of Palm dictionaries. Unfortunitly the DEX support cost and additonal $12.95 which in my opinion is a little steep after one spends 14.95 on the actual application.
Even though, the prospect of actually updating and making the dictionary even better with new word and what not is a neat concept.
Unfortunitly, Nexus doesn't seem to be UNabridged. I tried looking up some rather dirty words, purely for scholarly purposes I assure you, and I came up dry. Though it's not really that important to be able to look up the derevations of the f-word but still if they are bosting expandablity they should be unabridged.
It has a very nice interface and is easy to learn and figure out. A++ on that one for Pocket Sensei.
Anywho I'm curious what others think before I jump off the deep end and buy the new Nexus Dictionary.
Cheers fellow Palmers!
-Seth-
<Edit>
Apparently after RTFDing and looking through the owners manual I notices that if you install the DEX support your dictionary becomes UNabridged.

Being the implusive person that I am, I caved in and couldn't wait to own both Nexus and the DEX support. I'll let you all know what I think. Moose, you might like this app... so would you Paul.
<end another edit>
<update>
Downloaded the DEX too and boy is it unabridged very much worth it. It has the f-word as if that's important -- it's all about having all the words!
<end update>
