I've been using my 7book for email for a while now and all of a sudden it won't download my emails. I get a message saying Problem refreshing remote mailbox - already exists.
I've tried a soft reset. I've tried deleting the account and reinstalling it.
It's a yahoo account and I use my ISP's smtp address to send emails, though I can't see how that could be the problem, since it never has been before...
Any ideas? Apart from just changing to another email address?
Cheers,

This sounds a bit like the problem where the ISP requires e-mail authentication to use SMTP. POP3 is used to deliver mail, but SMTP authentication is needed to send e-mail.
If you do a search on the forum for SMTP Auth you should find some existing threads and links to an SMTPauth program that might resolve this issue for you.

Can you check your mail box contents in some other way? (e.g. a webmail service?). I would check what is in your mail box as I have noticed that some of the more bizzare spam mail with funny characters or no from names, can cause my email to stop downloading my mail.
Delete any offending emails and then try again. Should work ok now.

David - thanks for your advice but unfortunately my problem is with receiving rather than sending emails - sending them isn't a problem.
Wanman - I've just checked my account and there wasn't anything that stood out, but you never know. Will give it another go - and if it doesn't work, I'll be back here begging for more ideas!!

When do you get this message? The problem I encountered only occured when I tried to copy/move a specific email. If I connected it was ok but when the copy/move failed I then could not connect as it left something in the temporary headers folder which required me to delete and re-add the email account.
After you have deleted and re-entered your email account can you view all headers?
If you can, try moving/copying an email to your inbox from someone you recognise. Does this work? If so, then keep going until you find the dodgy one.
Out of interest how are you connecting to your email account? Wifi, PCMCIA Dialup, IRDA Dialup, IRDA GPRS, IRDA Mobile Dialup, etc?
