i knwo that if some random person on the street finds my palm, they won't be able to see what's in there. but when i sync it to the computer, anyone can just go into the palm desktop thing and read it all. is there any way to create a password for the computer?

Hello,

Paul from palmOne here. Because you say that if someone finds your palm, they won't be able to see the data on it, I imagine you've already assigned a password to your handheld according to the User Manual.

If this is the case, first do a hotsync, just as a precaution. After this is completed, open the Palm Desktop. Go to Tools > Options > Security tab > check the box "Require password to access the Palm Desktop data"

Close the Desktop, then re-open. You should now be prompted for the password that you had assigned to your handheld. Remember that the password is case-sensitive, so be sure to enter it correctly.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Paul
