Does anyone know when for sure the Dell Axim X50 is supposed to come out? I just got my financial aid awards letter so I can buy stuff for school. I would like to get this PDA when it comes out.

KimH Lukaino 10-11-2004, 05:20 PM I've read the same thing too, but only recently. Tomorrow is the 12th. Thank God. I probably won't be able to buy it until Saturday or later. So that leaves time for me to read reviews, etc. I hope it is the best VGA PPC. If not, it looks like I will have to order an ASUS VGA PPC. kimh 10-11-2004, 09:25 PM Check out this interesting link: http://plutoniumshore.com/BBSpics/Aximsite/PDA/AximX50-X50v.pdf Wonder if it's fake? If not - I'm sold! Lukaino 10-11-2004, 09:51 PM lol thanks for showing me this. I don't know if I buy it though. The quality looks like it sux. But you know? Tomorrow is the big day. Tuesday, we'll see about all the hype. AnswerDude 10-12-2004, 08:30 AM They are released today, 3 models, information's in the sticky thread on top. Lukaino 10-12-2004, 06:36 PM Thanks. Yea I saw them. But the test results make me think twice about buying one...so I'm not so sure... kimh 10-13-2004, 03:37 PM Originally posted by Lukaino Thanks. Yea I saw them. Thanks, KimH Lukaino 10-13-2004, 05:43 PM It's the SPB Benchmark results. They aren't really that high. And to access the potential of the Axim X50v's Intel GPU set you might have to code specific software for it. I thought it was a definite winner...but the ASUS a730 is a possible buy for me as well. But I will probably buy the DELL. It depends. The Dell website said the ship date would be Nov. 17th. Who wants to wait that long? If I can get it sooner, that would be great. What do you think? kimh 10-14-2004, 10:25 AM Originally posted by Lukaino It's the SPB Benchmark results. They aren't really that high. After looking at all the various models available for the remainder of the year I settled with the Dell X50v. Granted it's not the fastest but offers a ton of features which are very impressive. Keep in mind that bench marks - unless they show major differences - bear little weight in day to day usage - IMHO. I believe the 3D accelerator on the Dell X50v is not considered in these benchmarks and may make a huge difference down the road when more apps begin to use this feature. I ordered my X50v last night and it still holds for shipping on 11/18 which is fine with me. I don't suspect any newer PDA's this year from the competition. It's been an odd three months so far - I switched from Palm T3 to Ipaq 4155 and before I know it I'm upgrading again. KimH cemuller 11-03-2004, 08:17 AM I have ordered an X50 after T & T2 & being disappointed with latest PalmOne offerings. Can you provide a few words on any big challenges for you in moving from Palm OS to PPC's? What have you seen as the biggest improvement, for you? Thanks, any comments will be appreciated. A-lady 11-06-2004, 05:37 PM I have been told by dell canada they are shipping now. mind you i have ordered twice online to not have my order proccessed, then i order via phone yesterday and still no confimation was recieved, she did tell me I would get it in 15-20 days... but i am a little frustrated with Dell right now...lol jsut take my order please.....lol so if i don't get a confirmation by monday it looks like i might by the hp one. PDA Street
