Can anyone tell me if they had this problem with the Psion 5 screen going partially blank on the right side of screen? Could this be a do it your self fix? :(
Is it worth getting it fixed?
thanks,
Jag
This sounds like one of the screen driver chips has failed (either that or the screen cable has partially cracked) - I suggest a complete backup pronto!
Unfortunately neither of these are DIY repairs (see this thread in the main board: http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5005). As to whether its worth it, it will cost around £75 to get the screen repaired/replaced at www.posltd.com.
Do you depend on your Psion? Do you want it to work for another few years? If the answer is yes to these both then pay the money, if not then dump it for something else. Of course, there's no other PDA out there with the same featureset.....

I suppose you have tried calibrating your screen :)
Did you have this problem with your screen? and was it solved with calibration? If so, can you explain? Seems to be a bad chip I guess???
thanks,

No, I didn't have this particular problem, but I did have one where the pointer didn't coincide with the spot where I touched the screen and calibration fixed it. To try it just go:
TOOLS - CONTROL PANEL - SCREEN - CALIBRATION. Good luck.
