I just installed it but it erased all my data. Can I restore everything from the last backup I did, without affecting the ROM update?

It's not recommended. It may cause problems with registry files mixing old and new information. There are reports that WMP 10 will not function properly if you restore from backup before ROM upgrade. You can create new partnership and sync the information from the desktop, activesync can also reinstall all the applications in one step via add/remove programs.

I already did it before checking for you reply...
What should I do now?

If you aren't experiencing any problems then do nothing. If you are, then do a hard reset, the ROM upgrade will still be there.

When I open WMP it says I have version 9. Otherwise I haven't seen any issues.

I updated the ROM and then restored my old data. Unfortunately I cannot get the WMP 10 to work at all. I get one of two error messages.

1. The system cannot find the path specified.
2. The file type is not supported.

Any idea how I fix without having to reload the ROM update?

You can hard reset the Axim, then do not restore from backup, just reinstall your applications.

I'm a noob with an X30. What is a "Hard Reset"?

i've been wanting to install linux on my x30. however, that means "wiping my o/s", a huge risk!

can i use this upgrade to restore wm2003se if i find that version of linux isn't useful to me after all?

btw, the x30 port of familiar is here: http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30

I'm getting a used X30. Do I need to apply all the system upgrades sequentially, or only the last one?

Thanks!

Typically just the latest one.
