I would like to be able to connect to the internet with my palm in the usb cradle, but all the software seems to want to use a modem. I have tried some applications like Udora mail, but it only transfers information during a hotsync. My PC is connected on a network with tcp, so why can I not use a conduit for a lan extension?

Hi,

Did you ever get this to work? I'm in the same boat and don't understand why I couldn't use the USB conduit as a port connection to my LAN which connectes to the internet.

If anyone has done this I"d appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Wes

No, I have not heard back on this one, but it would make sense that you should be able to use the USB with a conduit to the internet.

Hummm,

I've just done a bunch of research and came up empty handed. The best solution I could think of would be to have a USB to Ethernet converter or USB to Serial adapter to Ethernet converter. However, that would require software on the palm for the network connection.

It just surprises me that with all the corporate users of PDA's that someone hasn't come up with a solution to even work with the internal LAN's. Corporate users could do a sync from a local server for updates, current documents, scheduling, etc.

Is this just not something these corporate folks need?

Not all PDA's are personal and many are owned by the company and supplied to the employees for their use.

If I find something that works I will remember to post it back here.
