Greetings:

I'm considering upgrading to a Tungsten but am concerned about being able to sync at my office using Intellisync.

Technical details are:

Compaq M700
Intellisync 4.1
XP Professional
Notes R5

 Anybody have experience, advice or information they can share?

Thanks!!

Palm lists Intellisync Version 4.0 as incompatable with OS5. There is no mention of Intellisync Version 5.0. Here's the link:

http://www.palm.com/support/tungstent/compatibility.html

Also, pumatech's web site does not address Palm OS5 in either their products section or their tech support section.

Old Blue:

Thanks for the response. I checked PumaTech and Palm sites before coming here and got the same results (or lack thereof). I submitted a question to PumaTech support. We'll see what they say.

I'm concerned :( I want to upgrade, but if I can't sync with the calendar function of Lotus Notes r5 I'm in big trouble. All I'll have is a cool device, I'll loose a large chunk of functionallity.

I'll share PumaTech's response after I get it.

FYI, Here is the response I received from PumaTech support relating to Intellisync and OS5:

Hello,

Unfortunately, Intellisync 4 doesn't support Palm Tungsten which runs Palm OS 5.

Currently, Pumatech does not support Palm OS 5. Pumatech is in the process of rigorously testing this new OS, and will shortly establish its support status, until then this new OS is not supported.

Pumatech at this stage does not foresee any issues between this new OS and Pumatech products.

Regards,
Pumatech Support"

I wonder what "does not forsee any issues" mean!? I'm still interested in experiences any of you may have.

Thanks

Thanks for the info from Pumatech. One of the other managers here uses Intellisync, but he's syncing to a Palm III and not using Lotus Notes. I hope Pumatech comes up with an upgrade or "fix" for you soon so that you can get a Tungsten.

I currently have a Tungsten T and use Notes 5 with Intellisync 5.0.

Intellisync works and is easily compatable to sync your DateBook, ToDo's and Addresses. However it is tricky for emails and VersaMail. So much so that I am actually using Documents To Go Premium v5.0 to sync my emails - which works very well and syncs up attachments as well.
