I have a bad feeling that I'm going to need yet another RMA (3rd? 4th? ... I've lost count), but I thought I'd ask here about my latest adventure before calling Garmin.
When I took my iQue from its cradle this morning, I had a static shock, but it didn't cause any sort of reset and I figured everything was fine. Later in the day, however, I realized that my hard buttons were all screwed up. All of the four on the bottom launch DateBk5, despite the fact that they are not set that way (I doubled checked.) The jog wheel only sort of works. Holding down the power button tries to set a waypoint instead of turning off the backlight (or maybe it does both.) While annoying, I could manage to live with this rather than give up Betty yet again. However, the battery is now being depleted at an insane rate. I'll take it off the cradle, and it immediately drops to 70% or so, and just keeps dropping. Within a few minutes it's down to 30%.
I've tried soft resets, warm resets, hard resets (which didn't work at all, probably because the buttons aren't mapping right) soft resets in the charger, and a couple "master clears," (which worked like a hard reset should, including the yes/no prompt.) I even re-loaded r3patch1. Nothing helps.
Does anyone have any ideas, or I am doomed to wait out yet another RMA?
