Hello, I have an Ipaq 2210 and I plan to by HX4700.
Can the unsightly screen protector be removed ?
Are there rigid cases already available ?
Does activesync supports Wifi ?
Are the cables of Ipaq 2210 compatible with HX4700 ? (car adapter, serial sync...)
Thanks for your help and time.

You can remove and replace old and worn screen protector with new one.
A hard case i saw;

You can activesync via wifi and bluetooth.
The connector is the same for 2210 and 4700, you can use older accessories.

Thanks AnswerDude,
By screen protector I mean the plexyglass which protects the screen.
I find it not well designed and I'm wondering if it can be removed.
Strangely it is not shown on the photos ?
Thanks

I agree! It is not an attractive item. It can be removed. Simply open the flap and bend it out. The pins holding it to the case are plastic so there is no danger of scratching anything.

Hi. Just returned to Pocket PC after a 2 year hiatus wth Palm. 4700 is beautiful but I have problems maybe someone can advise about. I'm left handfed so the included screen protector is VERY awkward. I'll follow adise from this thread and attempt to remove...any suggestions about doing it w/o damage? 2. Is there a utility app that can move the slider to the left side of the display? Is there an app that can power off by one of the "hard" buttons on the bottom....the power button on top is not easy to grab for me. 3. I'm very interested in a nice leather case..not that hard monster noted in this thread. Know of any options yet? I used Vaja for years but they don't have a 4700 yet, and once I remove the screen protector I'll certainly need something in addtion to an applied protector I just ordered. Thanks for any info. I like being back home with PPC:)

I forgot to mention that HP should have made it possible to mount the plastic cover on either side, making it usable by both left and rigth handers.

One more question...anyone know if stylus from other models will fit the 4700? I'd like to replace the plastic one with metal.

The settings panel (Start > Settings > System tab > Screen) allows you to control whether the landscape mode has a left-handed or right-handed orientation.

I had the same question myself when I first got my hx4700 last week, but after a little experimentation (it is NOT documented in the manual) I figured out how to get the plastic screen saver off and back on with great ease and zero chance of any damage.
You can shut the unit off also by using the Today screen software with two ckicks of the stylus. Turning it on does require you to use the button on top, which is not the easiest button to use but then again, it keeps it from switching on by accident!
This is one awesome PDA.
