Sooner Al 10-22-2004, 12:06 PM ...WiFi guide from HP for help using 802.11b wireless on your PocketPC... http://h200002.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00157709/c00157709.pdf Persuming you have installed the drivers for the card and the PocketPC recognizes the card, then yes you need to make sure the PocketPC is getting the correct SSID from the wireless access point and the WEP or WPA keys match on both the access point and the PocketPC. If your using WEP on the PocketPC I suggest you use a Hex representation of the key... http://www.warewolflabs.com/portfolio/programming/wepskg/wepskg.html You might try disabling WEP/WPA on both the PocketPC and the access point to troubleshoot, ie. see if you can connect to the local wireless network without encryption, ping hosts, access the network and the internet, then reenable WEP/WPA... Use these two free tools to help with ping, seeing what IP you get from the local DHCP server, etc... http://www.cam.com/vxipconfig.html http://www.cam.com/vxutil.html togara 10-22-2004, 03:00 PM Thanks, the iPAQ automatically recognized the SSID but won't connect.Do you know if it can use 40 bitWEP , or is it strictly 128? Also, you dont mean that I have to install drivers in the iPAQ when it's 802.11 enabled do you? Your right, I misread your post...so no you don't need to install drivers...I read you were trying to use a Cisco 340 card in your PPC versus the correct statement that your trying to connect to a Cisco 340 LAN... As long as the 64-bit WEP (the same as 40-bit) keys match you should be able to connect. Have you tried without WEP to make sure the basic link works? If so, use a hex key string on the PPC... togara 10-22-2004, 04:23 PM I got it!! It was the 128 bit, I didn't think that they were capable so I was using 40 bit.:D Sooner Al 10-22-2004, 05:31 PM Originally posted by togara I got it!!
