Whenever I press the power button to switch on my h4150, Wifi turns on automatically. That means I have to turn it off everytime, and this is getting frustrating.

Even after I switch it off the Wifi light still keeps flashing and I've flattened my battery without knowing because of this.

Is there a way to make it only turn on when I want it to go on?

Thanks

...going to Start -> iPAQ Wireless and tapping the WLAN icon so it turns ORANGE in color, ie. turn off the WiFi radio?

You might want to review this excellent document from HP concerning the operation of your iPAQ 4150 802.11b wireless sub-system...

Thanks for the advice; I had to go to iPAQ Wireless every time to switch off the WiFi (i.e orange), but when I switched the iPAQ off and back on, the icon would turn back to green.

I gave my PDA a soft reset, seems to have fixed the situation!

Thanks for your help

...but soft reset didnt work for me. Mine is only 2 days old. HP4355. Doesnt seem right.

Also...keyboard keeps popping up. I rather click on it when I need it. How do I prevent it from popping up all the time?

Not sure if this will help, it didn't help me, but go to Settings > Power > Control Tab and set WLAN Power save mode to Extended

For the keyboard popping up (I'm assuming you're talking about the on-screen one) everytime you misclick it so it appears, just click the keyboard icon next to the arrow pointing upwards, and it will minimise again.
