I just upgraded my desktop system to 4.0.1. I am since unable to get my Palm V and my desktop to communicate. Any suggestions? (My Palm V is running under OS 3.1 with hotsync 3.0.). Thnx.

DrMud 11-12-2002, 08:09 PM Janus, I'm going to skip all the questions about the PC and the OS and just ask one thing. Did you completely Uninstall the old Palm Desktop before the install of the new one? If not you may have some corrupted registry files. Read throug the info at the link below and see if you feel you did the job right. If not you will need to follow the directions and then install. Sorry to suggest so much work. Doc UNINSTALL the real method. I tryied what you suggested, but no dice. I got t he problem though. I have a hardware problem with my PDA or my craddle. The PDA-craddle assembly fell of accidently from my hand on the table and the hotsync started then stopped. I tryied again hitting softly the assembly on a piece of cloth and could recreate the phenomenon. Don't know what to do as we have no support in the area. Guess I'll just have to buy a new one... Thanks anyway. Regards. johngies 11-23-2002, 10:50 AM Have been having no luck syncing my Vx with Desktop since April. No problem with LapTop. Laptop belongs to company and I want my data. I have spent at least 12 hours with tech support at both Palm and computer manufacturer. No Help. Palm suggested Keyspan USB serial adapter and it's not detected. Have followed Dr Mud and Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Palm Desktop 3 times. Have the drivers for USB from Palm and Keyspan. Really like the light weight of PALM but am seriously considering going back to Paper. ANY HELP would be appreciated??? THANKS DrMud 11-23-2002, 04:03 PM JOhn, Sadly I can not provide any good words for your situation. There are more problems with USB Serial adapters than there are solutions. What OS are you running on the PC...or are you Mac? When you look in the Device Manager do you see the KeySpan? Are you using USB Driver 1.0.5? If not get it here (http://www.keyspan.com/downloads/) . Let me know about the OS. Doc johngies 11-27-2002, 09:13 AM Hi Dr Mud I am using WIndows XP Home, I went to the site you suggested and uninstalled the keyspan software and re-installed. My system detects the keyspan adapter, but when I try to sycn nothing, My palm says trying to connect via serial. When searching for the specific driver you mention I do not find it. Any other ideas? Appreciate the help, sorry for the delay in responding have been traveling:confused: PDA Street
