Hi guys, trying to enable file transfers with my s320 (looks everyone is!) and all works well (using the audio player deal) on my machine when loged in as an admin, but at work here we aren't.

The the usb drivers refuse to let the pda with a 64 meg flash mem card appear under removeable drives...

Any kind of Syncing is obviously not workable..

Any ideas people?

Sure would be a sweet way to move files from work!

Welcome to corporate IT hell where you are not allowed to use your PC for any unauthorized productivity enhancing activities. I have always been fortunate enough to have been granted local admin rights on my desktop PC. If I screw it up bigtime, IT will come and re-image it back to where it was the last time they left it. But sometimes it has been difficult getting those permissions without enlisting the aide of higher-ups who can get the IT clowns to do their bidding.

If I were in your spot, I would go to my supervisor with the productivity enhancing angle and try to enlist support to get IT to either install the necessary drivers for you or to grant you permission to do it yourself.

Hey there...

I did just that, turns out it wasn't a restricting policy, but a mapped drive which was screwing me over.

I had my D drive mapped to a network share I use all the time, turns our usb memeroy sticks/pda's etc. won't see this and assume it's getting drive D. So that's why I wasn't seeing it.

Killed the map and everything's sweet...<G>

You'd think a usb device would find a proper driver letter?

Ahh well, in any case now I wish I had botten a bigger mem stick! Heh

Thanks for the info man, take care.
