Hot synching my M130 after installing beyond contacts (enabling??? synch with Microsoft Outlook!) resulted in a message on the notebook as to memory setting issues and installation failure. More ominous, the PDA has a fatal alert fatal exception message from which reset has been no cure.

Reseting results in the Palm logo's appearance, followed by the Preferences screen with data and very soon the remergence of Fatal Alert Fatal exception.

Same result whether I reset via the screen or back side slot & whether the 256 MG memory card is in place or not.

What to do?

First do a Warm Reset. Hopefully that works and you can backup your data. :

Then try to delete Beyond Contacts. If you are daring, you can try to re-install it. I have not heard bad things about BC. You might need to contact the vendor if you can't get it to work.

Thank you. Soft resetting was an incomplete cure. I had to resort to a hard reset, once I learned how to do so. I next did deliete beyond contracts and reinstalled the Palm software... only to discover that my main goal, linking with and synching with Microsoft Outlook, was an option that came with the palm software.

Beyond contracts does do much more but the extras I find cumbersome to use on a handheld..
